After Dead Man's Path

After Dead Man’s Path

Authors note: this is a short response for the story Dead Man’s Path that is a predicting piece.

In the end of the story Dead Man’s Path, the narrator says that the main character Mr. Obi wakes up to the school that he re-constructed and spent most of his time making perfect, and it is in ruins. It was in ruins because it was in the way of some ancient path. After that I predict that one of two things happen. Either the school is not rebuilt because by the way that the narrator is saying that Obi and his wife are putting their time into the school, it seems like they are the only ones that have ever helped either the school which led to what I believe the main problem is; taking too much pride in their work.

The other scenario that might have happened is that the school was rebuilt but run by someone else. The new head master might have been his wife because she was not arguing with the priest or, the priest himself because he would know what to do with the whole ancient path deal. If someone else was in charge of the school then the inspector guy might have came back and said that it was ok too. For the children of the village, it would be good if the school was rebuilt so that they would have some form of education.
